The first thing i wanted to do was to eliminate the background, to do this i first used the magnetic lasoo tool, i started at the furthest left point of the umbrella and whent around it to the furthest right point and then to the right of the photo, back around the other two edges then to goin up with the starting point.



 

 

 

 

Next i used the eyedropper tool to select the area of the photo that was the whitest because i would be painting the rest of the background to match it and it may not have been pure wihte. I then selected the brust tool at 100% opaccity to fill in the rest of the selection.

 

 

 

Finally i used the clone stamp tool and the healing brush tool to soften the harsh lines of the shaddow and to blend it all together.

-To edit these i duplicated the background layer so as to leave my origional photo untouched.

-I then adjusted the colour curves to make the photo how i wanted it.

-Then to white out the background, as the fall off was not to close to the product, i choose to paint it out. To do this i used the eyedropper tool to select the prominent background colour in case it wasnt compleatly white. I then choose the paintbrush tool and painted over the fall off to make the background compleatly the same colour. 

- I then re-sized them so they could be put on a website, to do this i simply put the desired size into a crop box and cropped my photo. The size i was using was 800px by 600px and 72 dpi/pixels per inch, and saved it as a jpeg file.

For this unit we were going to photograph some products for Tyrers to use on their website.
